Staff- Carlton L. Boyd
 

 

Carlton L. Boyd, MPH is an investigator working with Dr. Moses Goldmon, Co- Director of the Community Engagement Core and is the Institutional Review Board (IRB) Administrator for Shaw University’s Office of Human Subjects Protection (OHSP). Mr. Boyd received his undergraduate degree in Environmental Science from Shaw University in June 2001 and his Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH), specializing in Community Health Education, from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in May 2004. Along with his work with Community Engagement Core and the OHSP, Mr. Boyd has participated as a Research Assistant with the “On Our Terms” End of Life Care study. As a staff member in the Institute for Health, Social, and Community Research, Carlton anticipates assisting the center in enhancing Shaw University’s capacity to conduct research and hopes to be a leading voice in the dissemination of culturally appropriate and relevant health-promoting information that can be utilized in the elimination of health disparities in the African American community.
