The Center for Biostatistics is equipped to provide
targeted statistical support throughout all phases of
the research process. Services provided at each phase
are outlined below.Research Development
- Assist with the conceptualization of research
project ideas
- Develop and review statistical sections of grant
proposals
- Provide sample size and power calculations for
proposals
- Assist with the development of analysis plans
Research Implementation
- Assist with the development of data collection
instruments
- Develop databases for primary data collection of
research projects
- Assist with the collection and entry of research
data
- Develop documentation for all research databases
- Provide double data entry and other data quality
control techniques to ensure the integrity of the
data
- Conduct necessary statistical analyses insuring accuracy and precise application of
statistical methods
At the completion of the research study
- Create tables, figures and graphs needed for
presenting data
- Write methods and results
sections for manuscripts, analysis reports, and
presentations
- Provide correct interpretation
of the analytical results
